Zeeb the Ox (6)

Raymond and Zeeb ran fast and wildly to Bushwack to tell the king of the violence they witnessed. Both of them could not unsee the boy hanging on the arms of a soldier like trash. Zeeb’s eyes were wide awake but not the excited kind. It was an expression of shock. He still couldn’t believe how the child was treated. Raymond was also nervous and running like he didn’t know where he was going while Zeeb was following behind him. For Zeeb, this was the fastest run he’d done. Zeeb, right after he was delegated as a guardian of the border, had been profoundly serious. It gave him purpose and confidence.

Entering the throne of Bushwack and Gertie, Raymond and Zeeb were panting. “What’s happening?” Queen Gertie asked with a worried countenance. Both Raymond and Zeeb were still gathering their breath to narrate what they saw. They were very expressive in saying that unforgettable scene. King Bushwack, right after he heard the news, asked his army to prepare all the weapons needed and all the soldiers that the kingdom had to go to the border and to get ready for whatever conflict would arise. Raymond and Zeeb, together with the army, helped set up the artillery, and hand weapons like daggers, swords, and shields. They also prepared a tank and several bows and arrows. The Bovidae kingdom was ready.

Raymond and Zeeb arrived first on the border, and the rest of the army was marching toward them. On the opposite side, there was still calm, with no sign of violence or attack. The rest of the army stood a couple of meters behind Raymond and Zeeb. They were all equipped, ready for combat if ever violence took place. It was so quiet; one could audibly hear the breathing of everyone there. It had a rhythmic pattern in a way. The Bovidae army had been waiting for hours. King Bushwack strictly commanded them to be stationary until an interruption, violence, or any matter of discomfort would take place.

Hours later, two soldiers appeared on the other side. They looked shocked. They saw the meticulous formation of the Bovidae kingdom. They stood still for a second. Then, they came near. Those in front were getting ready for defense.

Wait, wait,” one of the soldiers tried to stop the quiet commotion because those that were in front were slowly getting ready to aim these wanderers. “What is happening?” He signaled that neither of them had weapons. No one spoke for a second. Then, Zeeb stood up and explained what he saw. The soldiers didn’t know what to do. “We’ll try to ask our leader about it.” They really looked despondent. They came up in good posture, and now they left with their shoulders drooping. Nevertheless, the Bovidae army was still intact in their positions.

Another hour had passed, and King Bushwack allowed them to be at ease. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a couple of grenades were thrown in front of the fence. Those that were in front ran fast for safety, yet some of them were wounded. King Bushwack was incredibly angry. “Let’s wait for another minute, and if no one comes, we will attack!” King Bushwack screamed loudly, and the Bovidae army joined him and shouted and was ready to save the innocent.
